Hi! I'm Rebecca a photographer from Rainbow Beach with a love for the fine art monochromatic look. I have an immense interest in capturing raw and timeless images ‘in the moment’ to tell a story far more effectively than words can achieve. I aim to merge different elements to create a story for the audience to view. As much as I love being on location taking images, I also love to focus and connect to the flow, this allows me to move through each moment in time.
I've always loved to create since I was a child, and I enjoy the journey of the creative process more than the end result at times. Sometimes it's just fun to sit down have music blaring and create something from nothing.
The defining moment that really made me sit up and pay attention to photography was when I was living on a boat and one morning the water was still and flat as a sheet of glass, without a ripple or wave to be seen. As the sun was coming up, the colours were a soft pastel and the lighting was enough so that you can see everything but not bright enough where you needed to cover your eyes. The colours were so soft that it almost seemed as if they came straight out of a dream.
A flock of pelicans were gliding just above the water and as they were gliding, they didn't make a single ripple, even when they all beat their wings in the exact same spot to get the updraft to keep gliding. I didn't have a camera in my hand at that moment, but how I wish I did so I could show you this image as it would have spoken to you more than my words would ever be able to.

I love to sit in the moment and take in my surroundings, then grab my camera and have a single point focus to see and show people how something that is normally overlooked can really have a moment of beauty to it. My fun moments are monochromatic fine art. I love how it can have a timeless feel to it even though it can be quite raw and gritty at the same time. Being in those moments and pausing allows me to see how the light and shadow play on the scene, highlighting the dramatic light and dark look.
I love meeting new people, and because of this I love to meet my clients beforehand. I find this helps to get to know clients without a camera between us. I know how nerve-wracking it can be in front of a camera, hence why I'm always the one holding it ;) and doing it this way helps my clients get to know me as well and see if I'm a great fit for them. Since starting my journey I have met some remarkable people, including other photographers and celebrants, as well as my awesome clients.
Feel free to meet them, they are over on my collaborations page and I can't speak highly enough about them.
I look forward to meeting, working or collaborating with you soon!
